  1. Overall it was ok. They allowed rooming in after the child was born and I was very happy with it. But when my boy had difficulty taking my breast (he was sleepy after birth probably as a result of epidural during birth) nurses were not helping me very much in teaching how to do it and instead started giving him formula at times when they were taking the boy for changing diapers and giving baths, and this is against my explicit request not to give any bottles with formula or sugared water. I knew about it only the next day when I saw it on the records card they brought to me. I was furious, but they just shrug their shoulders saying "well the child was hungry, he cannot breastfeed". I cried and called my friend, breastfeeding specialist, to help me. She came over and in no time we were able to awaken the child and help him take the breast for the first time efficiently. Since that moment I'm exclusively breastfeeding and my baby is 4 months now. But I'm sure if I was not lucky to have such a friend, then my child would have never received the superior nutrition and health that he is getting right now from my milk. Till now he's never been sick!!! Breastfeeding is the best thing a mother can do and in Rizk Hospital they don't help mothers learn how to start breastfeeding their newborns. It seems they actually make things worse by their attitude and actions of giving formula against the wishes of the parents.
